Classes include interactive songs, baby signs, and sensory play in a safe space for you to connect with your baby/toddler and to make new friends. Plan on talking off your shoes, sitting on the floor with your child, and getting caught up in the fun! Come as you are and be prepared to sing, laugh, and connect with others.
Classes are 45 minutes long and include time for free play and connection followed by 30 minutes of more structured time for learning.
Demo classes are a sample of a regular class and last 30 minutes.
Happy Talk classes are designed for specific age groups to support safety, engagement, and a positive experience for all families. Sibling attendance outside of the class age range may be permitted on a case by case basis with advance notice. Please reach out to discuss your situation. Bringing two siblings to participate? Not at all! Happy Talk classes are designed for all children. They are lead by a speech language pathologist in a non-therapeutic way to support communication development and connections. Classes are educational in nature and not considered therapy.
Baby signs and gestures are used in classes to support early communication skills and connections. They are taught as a way to support spoken language with respect to the Deaf culture that uses ASL.
Any caregiver is welcome! Parents, grandparents, nannies, etc. are welcome to attend classes and participate with the child. We ask that if you have many “extra” grown ups who want to attend, please reach out before the class to ensure there is space and other little ones will be comfortable.
